DENVER - The University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving teams both moved up the CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Division I Rankings, which were released Thursday.
The Denver men's team is ranked fourth, while the women are ranked eighth. The Pioneer men were previously ranked sixth, while the women were previously 13th.
"I expected our women and men to move up after we had some fast swims and great diving at the Iowa Invite," said head coach Brian Schrader. "We want to keep moving toward the top of this poll, and also maintain our Top-25 spot in the national coach's poll. It's always fun to be recognized on a national level, and our athletes earned it."
Princeton sits atop the men's Mid-Major rankings, while Miami-Ohio is No. 1 in the Mid-Major women's rankings.
Both Denver squads are coming off dual wins over Florida Atlantic on Wednesday. The Denver men defeated FAU 148-90, while the Pioneer women won 153-88.
The men's squad was ranked No. 24 in the most recent Endless Pools Top-25, while the women were No. 49 in the CollegeSwimming.com Fall Semester Top-100, which was released Tuesday.
The Pioneers will return to action when they head north to take on Wyoming on Jan. 12.
