Foeman Accepts Position at ESPN

DENVER – Former University of Denver men’s basketball player Blake Foeman (Westin, Fla.) accepted a position as a project production assistant at ESPN in Bristol, Conn.

Foeman, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from DU in June, will focus on recaps and highlight packages for SportsCenter, Baseball Tonight and College Game Day.

“My first week was eye opening,” said Foeman a week after starting his new job. “Seeing how ESPN works and how much control production assistants have on the shows is unreal.”

After his training is complete, Foeman will be logging games, creating highlight packages and writing scripts for the anchors to read, adjusting the packages for each show it airs on.

Foeman also was awarded a scholarship by the Denver chapter of the Colorado Association of Black Journalists, which covered expenses to the organization’s national conference earlier this month.

Foeman played for the Pioneers from 2009-13, appearing in 64 games and helping the Pioneers to 44 victories in the past two seasons, as well as a share of the 2013 WAC regular season championship.

“We are very happy for Blake,” head coach Joe Scott said. “Our program takes pride in preparing student-athletes to be pros in life, and it is great to see Blake’s hard work over the course of four years be rewarded by landing a job in his field.”

At ESPN, Foeman joins former DU women’s basketball player Ashly Robinson, who is an associate producer in the network’s digital media department.

"I am excited to have another DU alum working at ESPN,” Robinson said. “I met Blake on his official visit to DU when he was still in high school, so it will be great to have a another familiar face walking around the ESPN campus"
