DENVER – University of Denver women’s soccer head coach Jeff Hooker announced this week that Kris Peat has been promoted to associate head coach to start the 2013 season.
“I want to thank Jeff for my recent promotion,” Peat said. “His confidence in my abilities means a great deal to me. I’m truly grateful for the support Jeff and the entire athletic administration have given me over the past years. I will continue to do my best to surpass the expectations set for me.”
Enter his sixth season with the Pioneers, Peat also served as a Denver men’s soccer assistant coach in 1999-00. Over the last five seasons, Peat has helped the Pioneers to an impressive 88-19-8 record, a historic trip to the Sweet 16 in 2012 and multiple memorable wins.
“Kris has done a tremendous job in several areas and even though his specialty as a player was goalkeeping he has been very diverse and worked hard to be a very good coach,” Hooker said. “Kris has so many abilities that have helped the program get to the next level. I am happy we were able to keep him here and have him part of the program.”
