• Denver started the battle for the Gold Pan on the right foot, defeating Colorado College 8-1 on Friday at Magness Arena.



• The Pioneers will host Air Force on Friday night in the sixth game of the current seven-game homestand.



• DU will wrap-up the aforementioned homestand when it hosts former WCHA foe Wisconsin on Saturday at 7:06 p.m. MT.

DENVER IN THE POLLS...



• The Pioneers are currently 11 in the USA Hockey Magazine Poll and No. 10 in the USCHO.com Poll.



• Denver was ranked No. 15 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Preseason Poll and No. 18 in the USCHO.com Preseason Poll.



• DU finished the 2013-14 season ranked 15/17 in the two polls.

COMING ALL THE WAY BACK...



• Denver's three-goal comeback on Nov. 7 against Western Michigan was its first since Oct. 17, 2008, when DU came from 4-1 down to beat Wisconsin in Magness Arena by a count of 6-5.

WHO'S BACK IN THE CRIMSON AND GOLD...



• The Pioneers return 21 letterwinners from the team that finished 20-16-6 a year ago, while only losing five letterwinners.



• DU head coach Jim Montgomery replaced his five lettermen lost with like-for-like freshmen, as the Pioneers welcome two forward, two defensemen and a goaltender to the program.

SCOUTING AIR FORCE...



• Air Force is coming off a three-point weekend at Robert Morris in AHA play a week ago.



• Cole Gunner leads the Falcons with 15 points on five goals and 10 assists in the first two months of the campaign.



• Scott Holm (5-5-10) and Chad Demers (4-6-10) are the other two Falcons in double figures.



• Goaltender Chris Truehl has played in all 11 games, entering Friday night's contest with a 2.93 GAA.



NCHC WEEKLY HONORS...

• Freshman right winger Danton Heinen has been named National Collegiate Hockey Conference Rookie of the Week twice this season (10/20, 11/3).



• Senior defenseman Joey LaLeggia was named the NCHC Defenseman of the Week (11/17), after recording his 100th career point vs. Colorado College (11/14).
