DENVER – Every game of the University of Denver hockey team’s opening round NCHC playoff series at Omaha this week will be available via live video stream to fans on PioneerVision.
The Pioneers travel to CenturyLink Arena to face the Mavericks in a best-of-three playoff series, beginning Thursday, March 13 (6:37 p.m., MT), that will see the winner advance to the inaugural NCHC Frozen Faceoff at the Target Center in Minneapolis on March 21-22.
Denver enters the NCHC playoffs as the No. 6 overall seed after posting a 10-11-3-2 conference mark, while Omaha is slotted as the No. 3 seed with a record of 13-9-2-1 in NCHC action.
Denver leads the all-time series vs. Omaha 13-6-2, but has dropped three of the previous four meetings with the Mavericks this season. The Pioneers lost the first two meetings vs. Omaha this season at Magness Arena on Nov. 1-2, before splitting a pair of games in Omaha on Feb. 14-15.
The Pioneers’ series in Omaha represents the first time that Denver has opened the conference playoffs on the road since the 2002-03 campaign.
