Pioneers Move to No. 3 in National Polls

DENVER – The University of Denver men’s lacrosse team moved up two spots to No. 3 in the national polls this week after securing a 16-9 win over St. John’s on Saturday afternoon. Denver is ranked No. 3 in the USILA Coaches’ Poll, the Warrior Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and the Lacrosse Magazine Poll, all released Monday.

Loyola tops all three polls with an 11-1 record, follow by the Duke Blue Devils with a 11-2 record. Just behind the Pioneers in all three polls sits Syracuse with an 8-3 record. In the USILA Coaches’ Poll, Maryland rounds out the top-five with a 9-2 mark, while Johns Hopkins is No. 5 in the Warrior Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. North Carolina sits at No. 5 in the Lacrosse Magazine Poll with a 9-3 record.

The Pioneers are on a seven game winning streak heading into their BIG EAST game at Providence on Saturday at 10 a.m. MT.
