Men's Tennis Releases 2014-2015 Schedule

- The University of Denver men's tennis program will host nine regular season home games, head coach Danny Westerman announced along with the rest of the 2014-2015 schedule on Monday.

The Pioneers' fall schedule features eight tournaments at various locations throughout the US, three of which are Intercollegiate Tennis Association championships. ITA Regionals which will be hosted in Las Vegas, NV Oct 15-19, 2014.

"They will be going to several tournaments around the country to compete individually. We will have a deep team and I am looking forward to some healthy competition between our players and seeing who can step up in both practice and matches to earn their respective positions," stated Westerman.

Denver opens up their pre-season events on September 20 with a home tournament, the Metropolitan State University Denver Invitational at the Regency Athletic Complex.

"We are extremely excited about our 2014-2015 schedule. We are doing a few things differently this fall to allow all our players ample opportunity to improve, as well as prove themselves before our spring team season," coach Westerman commented.

For their spring opener, Denver will face Florida State, University of North Carolina Wilmington, University of Central Florida, Tulane, University of North Florida, Furman, and South Alabama in the FSU Invitational in Tallassee, Florida on January 10. The Pioneers' first conference opponent will be Oral Roberts University on February 28.

Denver returns five of the six 2013-2014 All-Summit League Team members, including Henry Craig, Alex Gasson, Yannik James, Diogo Rocha and Aidan Talcott. On September 8, 2014, The Summit League announced that Craig, a junior, and Gasson, a sophomore, are ranked No. 18 in the ITA preseason doubles rankings.
