Sanders and Bornman Selected as Swimmers of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - Denver's Ray Bornman was named Summit League Men's Swimmer of the Week while teammate Amanda Sanders earned Women's Swimmer of the Week award for their performances during the week of Oct. 19-25.

Ray Bornman, DENVER So. // Mackay, Queensland, Australia
· Collects his first career Summit League Swimmer of the Week award this season and second of his career
· Claimed two individual victories along with four relay victories in Denver's double dual meet victory over Kansas and Missouri State
· Posted the league's top times in the 100 Free (45.12) and 200 Free (1:39.12)
· Part of three relay teams that set the league's top mark (200 Free, 400 Free, 800 Free)
· Helped break pool record in 800 Free relay (6:43.18) that stood since 1984

Amanda Sanders, DENVER Jr. // Superior, Colo.
· Claims her third career Summit League Swimmer of the Week award and first this season
· Earned two individual (100 Breast, 200 Breast) and one relay (200 Medley) victories
· Her times of 1:05.55 in the 100 Breast and 2:16.73 in the 200 Breast are the tops in the league this season
· Helped the Pioneers to a double dual meet victory over Kansas and Missouri State

The University of Denver men's swimming and diving team will travel to Santa Cruz, Calif. on Friday, Nov. 6th to compete against UC Santa Cruz. The women's team is set to host Air Force on Saturday, Nov. 7th at noon at El Pomar, while the men will take on the University of the Pacific on the same day in Stockton, Calif.
