DENVER - The University of Denver lacrosse programs are participating in an initiative to support US Lacrosse's fundraising campaign for the new national team training facility in Sparks, Md. Through this campaign, the "Lacrosse Capital of the West" will have the opportunity to be showcased on one of only 20 brick pillars highlighting 20 programs from across the country that will overlook the new training field.

Denver's goal through the program is to raise $50,000 in conjunction with US Lacrosse for its brick pillar as part of US Lacrosse's overall 15-million dollar fundraising campaign for the training facility. Alumni and supporters of the program can donate directly online here, or fill out the US Lacrosse Pledge Form.

US Lacrosse announced in June of 2015 that it was naming the playing field at the new US Lacrosse National Headquarters William G. Tierney Field after the seven-time National Champion head coach.

"This new tribute honoring college lacrosse will join the U.S. Lacrosse National Hall of Fame and Lacrosse Museum at the facility," men's lacrosse head coach Bill Tierney said. "I am humbled that DU has been given the opportunity to be recognized with one of the 20 brick pillars lining the Henry A. Rosenberg Jr. Promenade."
