Andison and Loncar Earn Summit League Swimmer of the Year Honors

ELMHURST, Ill (Denver/Summit League) - University of Denver women's swimmer Bailey Andison (Smiths Falls, Ontario) and DU men's swimmer Anton Loncar (Hillsboro, Ore.) have been named the Summit League Women's and Men's Swimmers of the Year, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Andison is the fourth straight Denver swimmer to be selected Women's Swimmer of the Year. The Denver sophomore claimed league titles in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 100 IM, setting championship meet records in all three events and qualifying for the NCAA Championships. The Smiths Falls, Ontario, native placed 13th in the 200 IM (1:55.21) and fifth in the 400 IM (4:03.09), earning Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 200 IM and All-American honors in the 400 IM, while setting new all-time league marks in both events. Andison was also a part of three Summit League relay championships (800 freestyle, 400 medley, 400 free), helping set two all-time league-best times of 7:11.67 in the 800 freestyle and 3:33.85 in the 400 medley.

Loncar is the fourth straight Denver swimmer to be selected Men's Swimmer of the Year. The junior earned a Summit League title in the 200 backstroke and finished second in the 100 backstroke, earning a NCAA Championships spot in the process. At the NCAA Championship, Loncar placed 10th while clocking a career-best and Summit League record time of 45.40 in the 100 back. The Hillsboro, Ore., native finished seventh while breaking his own all-time league mark in the 200 back (1:39.29). Loncar was also a part of three Summit League relay championship teams (200 medley, 200 freestyle, 400 medley), helping set two all-time league-best times of 1:17.62 in the 200 freestyle relay and 1:26.02 in the 200 medley.
