Men's Tennis falls at New Mexico in Heartbreaker

ALBUQUERQUE - The University of Denver men's tennis team looked to end the season on a win, but just couldn't get it done on the road, falling 4-3 to New Mexico.

The Pioneers fall to 10-9 on the year but remain 4-1 in Summit League play.

On the doubles side, DU scored a win from Eric Morris and Pedro Fernandez Del Valle at two doubles 6-3 over Ricky Hernandez-Tong and Stepan Holis.

In a thrilling three sets, the Crimson and Gold took the top singles spot, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 thanks to Mattia Ros.

At the two singles spot, Matt Summers took down Bart Van Leijsen 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

Finally, Denver's last singles point came from Jesse Ruder-Hook 7-6, 7-6 at three singles, getting the dub over Dominic Went.

The Pioneers returns to the court on Sunday, as they face South Dakota State on the road.
