DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team is ranked No. 10 in the Week 7 Road to Nationals rankings, which were released on Monday.
This is the first week that rankings are determined by National Qualifying Score (NQS). NQS is calculated with the six highest scores of the season, at least three of which must be from away meets. The highest of the six scores is dropped, and the remaining five are averaged.
DENVER'S NQS
197.650 – Away
197.500 – Home
197.425 – Home
197.200 – Away
197.125 – Home
196.725 – Away
NQS: 197.195
Denver's 197.195 set a new program record for initial NQS by more than a tenth (197.075 in 2020). It also already ranks as the third-highest NQS in DU history, behind only 2019's final NQS of 197.545 and 2021's 197.344.
This is only the third time in DU history that the team's initial NQS is above the 197.000 mark (2019, 2020).
