Travis Culhane

Travis Culhane wrapped up his fourth season at the University of Denver in 2024-25 as the director of hockey operations after being hired to the position on July 12, 2021.
 
In his time at DU, he has helped the Pioneers capture two NCAA National Championships (2022, 2024), two Penrose Cups as NCHC regular-season champions (2021-22, 2022-23) and the 2024 NCHC Frozen Faceoff Championship. Denver has also reached three NCAA Frozen Fours and has won at least 30 games in each of the four seasons that Culhane has been on staff.
 
Culhane, 29, also served as the United States video coach on David Carle’s staff at the previous two IIHF World Junior Championships in 2024 in Gothenburg, Sweden, and 2025 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He helped the Americans win gold medals in each time, marking the first team USA Hockey accomplished the feat at the under-20 tournament.
 
The Kalamazoo, Michigan, native joined Denver after spending the previous two seasons with Colorado College in the same capacity (2019-2021). The 2024-25 campaign marked his seventh in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, as he also served as the director of hockey operations at Western Michigan in 2018-19.
 
A 2017 graduate of Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Culhane worked in WMU hockey operations department as a student assistant beginning in 2015. He is the son of WMU Hockey Ring of Honor member and former Bronco defenseman and head coach Jim Culhane.
 
Culhane resides in Highlands Ranch with his wife Michelle.
