Plan an Event Ritchie Center Events

Planning an event can be a challenge but we make it easy on you. Let us help you plan your next event at the Ritchie Center. Our event managers have a wide variety of experience—ranging from a 10-person breakfast to an 8,000-attendee concert or conference. We will work with you to ensure the best experience possible for you and your guests.

Checklist

With our experience in hosting more than 200 events per year, we’ve simplified the event planning process to five steps:

  1. Contact our scheduling staff at 303-871-3854 or selina.kirwan@du.edu to check availability.
  2. Schedule a visit to the Ritchie Center for a facility tour, if desired.
  3. Review the event agreement and price estimate provided to you.
  4. Return a signed agreement, 50 percent non-refundable rental deposit and certificate of insurance naming the University of Denver as additionally insured.
  5. Work with your assigned Ritchie Center event manager on event logistics and day-of-event execution. We’ll confirm your event staff and production needs.

The following Ritchie Center venues are available for events:

  • Magness Arena
  • Hamilton Gymnasium
  • Gates Field House
  • Joy Burns Arena
  • Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium
  • Diane Wendt Sports Fields
  • Stapleton Tennis Pavilion
  • El Pomar Natatorium
  • Meeting and conference rooms

We book events up to one year in advance. If you are interested in a multi-year booking agreement, please contact Director of Ritchie Center Events, Selina Kirwan, at 303-871-3854 or selina.kirwan@du.edu for further information.

If a venue is available for your event, we will place a hold for the date and time requested. To confirm your booking, you must provide a signed event agreement, a (non-refundable) deposit and certificate of insurance naming the University of Denver as an additionally insured party.

Parking is available in different University parking lots. Parking may be pre-purchased for an event or paid by event attendees. Depending on the nature of your event, parking fees range from $10-$30.

Unfortunately, outside catering is not allowed at the Ritchie Center. Sodexo is the exclusive catering vendor for the Ritchie Center. If you would like more information about Sodexo’s catering services, please contact Jason Kaiser at jason.kaiser@sodexo.com.

Yes, we do offer non-profit rental rates with proof of 501c3 status. Please submit the interest form above, and make sure to check the box for non-profit.

Please contact us immediately if you need to cancel an event. Your 50 percent deposit is non-refundable, however, if your event can be rescheduled, we will work with you to find a different date.

Yes, handicap parking spots and a disability access location are available on the north side of our facility. Accessible seating is available in each of our venues.

Yes, we can provide box office services. Please speak with Director of Ritchie Center Events, Selina Kirwan, at 303-871-3854 or selina.kirwan@du.edu regarding your box office needs when booking your event.

All events are required to hire a baseline level of Ritchie Center staff including custodial and event services. We welcome volunteers, however they cannot replace our event staff, who are trained in event and emergency protocols.
