Day 2 - January 29, Post Event Quotes

Denver head alpine coach Kurt Smitz:
"It was a solid meet. You always have to take chances in alpine, and we just happened to lose a couple of points because of the risks we took over the weekend. Overall, I feel we're skiing well, and we're gaining in our ability to ski well. It's fairly obvious that there are two schools that are rising above everyone else. CU won DU's meet, so maybe DU can win at CU's meet next week."

Colorado senior Magnus Eriksson, who skied the third leg of CU's winning skate relay:
"I don't think that I skied that fast, but the others on our team - especially Katka [Katerina Hanusova] - skied very well. My race was OK but not more than that; we have a relay next weekend as well, so perhaps I'll do better."

Colorado freshman Abby McCallister:
"We were pretty surprised with the results, I think. Both teams [Denver and Colorado] have strong skiers; I think that we were just mentally tough. Unni [Odegard] and I were working off of each other, that helped us to widen the gap, and everyone else took it from there. It was just a strong, strong day for everyone."
