DENVER -- University of Denver women's basketball player Michaela Pavlickova (Prague, Czech Republic/Boulder HS) was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week, it was announced today. The 6-3 center averaged 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds as the Pioneers split a pair of league games against Louisiana Tech and New Orleans.
Pavlickova shot 63.6 percent from the field and 100 percent from the line to earn Denver's first player of the week honor this season. Leading the team in both scoring (17.1) and rebounds (8.6) for the season, Pavlickova has scored in double figures in 11 straight games and 13 of 14 games this season. She was a unanimous preseason first team All-Sun Belt Selection.
The Denver Pioneers are 9-5, 1-2 on the season and travel to Arkansas-Little Rock on Thursday before returning home to host North Texas on Saturday.
