Two Denver Golfers Qualify for U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links

DENVER--University of Denver women's golfers Kelly Schaub (Greeley, Colo.) and Christine Anast (Littleton, Colo.) were co-medallists Tuesday in the Women's Amateur Public Links qualifier held at Fox Hollow Golf Course in Littleton, Colo. Both will represent Colorado in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship June 19-24 at Kemper Lakes Golf Course in Long Grove, Ill.

Both women shot 2-over par 74s and qualified for the event for the second time. In 1999, Schaub made it to the round of 16 at Santa Ana Golf Course in New Mexico and in 2000, Anast made it to the round of 32 at Legacy Golf Links in Aberdeen, N.C.

Another Denver golfer, freshman Sara Silva (Fort Morgan, Colo.) was the first runner-up with a 6-over par 78 and qualified as first alternate.
