Hockey - (2-0)

Ranking: No. 10

Update: Def. No. 14 Ohio State 5-2; Def. St. Lawrence 3-0.

Junior Jeff Drummond (Leduc, Alberta) scored two goals and junior Jon Foster (Suffern, N.Y.) added a goal and an assist to lead Denver to a 5-2 win over No. 14 Ohio State in its season-opening game on Oct. 3, at the Lefty McFadden Invitational in Dayton, Ohio. Drummond scored one goal and added an assist, and senior Adam Berkhoel (Woodbury, Minn.) made 24 saves to lead the No. 12 Pioneers to a 3-0 win over St. Lawrence in the championship game on Oct. 4, at the Lefty McFadden Invitational in Dayton, Ohio.

Volleyball - (12-6, 3-1 SBC)

Update: Def. Louisiana-Lafayette 3-0; Lost to North Texas 3-1.

Denver senior Andrea Baron (West Vancouver, B.C.) led all players with a .542 hitting percentage and the Pioneers volleyball team used a 54-41 kill advantage in a 3-0 sweep of Louisiana-Lafayette on Oct. 3, in Earl K. Long Gym. The University of North Texas volleyball team used a .396 hitting percentage - the highest that Denver has allowed in a match all season - and won the final three games for a 3-1 victory over the Pioneers on Oct. 5, at The Snake Pit.

Next Match: vs. ARKANSAS STATE, Fri., Oct. 10, 7 p.m.; vs. NEW MEXICO STATE., Sun., Oct. 12, 2 p.m.

Men's Soccer - (6-4-1)

Update: Def. Colorado School of Mines 4-0.

Freshman James Merriman (Nanaimo, B.C.) and sophomore Thomas Flynn (Broomfield, Colo.) each netted two goals as Denver defeated the Colorado School of Mines, 4-0, on Oct. 5, at Pioneer Field.

Next Match: vs. ALABAMA A&M, Sun., Oct. 12, 11 a.m.

Women's Soccer - (9-1, 2-0 SBC)

Ranking: No. 19

Update: Def. Arkansas-Little Rock 5-0; Def. Arkansas State 2-0. The Pioneers won their seventh non-conference game as they shutout UC Riverside 1-0, at Pioneer Field on Sept. 28. The Pioneers' lone goal was scored by senior Jenni Harris (Littleton, Colo.). Denver dominated Arkansas State 2-0 in its second conference game at Pioneer Field on Oct. 5. Junior Maggie Kirchhoff (Redondo Beach, Calif.) and freshman Lleane Grimditch (Boulder, Colo.) scored the Pioneers' two goals.

Next Match: at North Texas, Fri., Oct. 10, 6 p.m.; at Northern Arizona, Sun., Oct. 12, 2 p.m.

Golf

Update: M - Third at the Ron Moore Invitational; W - Second at the Ron Moore Women's Classic.

M - The Pioneers shot a final-round even-par 288 on Sept. 30, in the final round and moved up two spots to finish fifth in the first annual Ron Moore Invitational held at Riverdale Dunes Golf Course. W - Denver shot a final-round 304 on Sept. 30, and finished tied for second place at the first annual Ron Moore Classic at Highlands Ranch Golf Course.
