Senior captain Maggie Kirchhoff (Redondo Beach, Calif.), sophomores Lleane Grimditch (Boulder, Colo.) and Elise Mascitelli (Littleton, Colo.) and freshman Taryn Hemmings (Greeley, Colo.) all scored goals for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers had two goals in the first half. The first goal for the came in the 12th minute when Taryn Hemmings passed the ball to Grimditch who beat a defender and hit a rocket to the left side from 15 yards.

In the 32nd minute Hemmings scored the second goal of the game using her speed to beat three Trojans and knocked the ball in on the left side.

Denver's game proved to be too much for the Trojans to handle. In the second half, the Pioneers scored two more goals with the first one coming off a penalty kick taken by Kirchhoff.

The last goal of the game was scored from a corner kick as sophomore Holly Huppert (Littleton, Colo.) served the ball in and Mascitelli knocked it in with her head scoring her first goal of the season.

Outshooting the Trojans 19-2, Danielle Wiley (Littleton, Colo.) made one save the entire game and the Pioneers allowed the Trojans only one shot on goal.

"We tried to play very aggressive and put as much pressure on them as we could, with our goal being to score in the first 10 minutes," said head coach Jeff Hooker. "Overall, we did what we wanted to do and got a shutout on the road."

The Pioneers improve their record to 3-5-1 and return to action on Sunday against Arkansas State in Jonesboro, Ark. at 2 p.m. MT.
