Pioneer Profile

  1. How long have you competing in gymnastics and what/who got you to start?

I started gymnastics when I was nine years old, so 12 years ago. Basically the reason I started was because my parents put me in it because I was a hyperactive kid and they were trying to get me to stop bouncing off the walls.

  2. What is your best skill in gymnastics?

I think I am very competitive, no matter what I am ready to compete when the moment comes.

  3. What part of your gymnastics needs the most improvement?

I think I need the most improvement on being involved with the team. I have great teammates and I love them, but a lot of the time I get to caught up in other things and don't spend lots of time with them.

  4. Why did you choose the University of Denver?
  5. Mainly because I felt a real connection with the coaches and the team.

  6. What is your favorite movie and why?
  7. Well it changes all the time but right now, Low Down Dirty Shame.

  8. What is your favorite singer or musical group and why?
  9. I am into country right now, but I like just about everything. My favorite group as of late is Lonestar.

  10. What is your favorite book and reasons why?
  11. Lads before the Winds, it is a really interesting book for those interested in dolphin training. It is a diary of one of the most recognized dolphin trainers in the country.

  12. If you were a WWE wrestler what would your name be and why? What is your nickname given to you by your teammates?
  13. The underdog. I am not necessarily the best out there but sometimes I have my moments. My nickname with the team is Shibes.

  14. If you had a million dollars what would you do with it and why?
  15. Right now, I would donate a lot of it to cancer research foundations and put the rest in the bank.

  16. What do you do enjoy doing outside of gymnastics?
  17. I like doing playing other sports, relaxing, playing with my dog, going on picnics with my boyfriend and many other things.

  18. Who do you think of as a role model and why?
  19. I work with some amazing people at Ocean Journey. Doug and Ashlee are some of the best teachers and trainers I could have ever hoped to work with.
