Nationally-ranked Pioneers reach Women's Finals

MOBILE, Ala. - No. 2 seed Denver will play in the 2004 Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championship title match, as the Pioneers took a 4-0 win over upstart No. 6 seed Arkansas-Little Rock Saturday at the Mobile Tennis Center.
The No. 52 Pioneers (19-1) will face South Alabama at 9 a.m. Sunday at Lubel Courts. The Trojans (23-5) will face FIU in Sunday's 8 a.m. third-place match.
Denver, which has won 16 straight matches, used a tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles to get that point. From there, the Pioneers took control by winning at No. 2, 4 and 5 singles. The trio of Suzana Maksovic (Helsingborg, Sweden), Barbara Kourim (Dallas, Texas) and Rachel Sackmaster (Alpharetta, Ga.) combined to lose just five games.
UALR was coming off two wins Friday, including a 4-3 upset win over Middle Tennesse.
