Zeller and Watson Named Sun Belt Performers of the Week

Feb. 9, 2005

DENVER - University of Denver swimmer sophomore Harmony Zeller (Arvada, Colo.) and freshman diver Holly Watson (Sugar Land, Texas) were named Sun Belt Conference Performers of the Week, announced today by league officials. It is both Watson's and Zeller's first Performer of the Week honor this season.

Zeller earned the honor for her performance last weekend against Colorado State. She posted two first-place finishes in the distance freestyle events with times of 10:30.85 in the 1000-yard freestyle and 5:10.69 in the 500-yard freestyle. Zeller's win in the 1000-yard freestyle was her fifth of the season, and her win in the 500-yard freestyle is her third of the season.

Watson continues to lead Denver women divers with her consistent performances each week. At the Air Force Diving Invitational, Watson placed 14th on the 1-meter with 211.70 points and 11th on the 3-meter board with a career-high 364.35 points.

The Pioneers have now totaled 13 Performer of the Week honors, with sophomore Craig Jollands (Hillcrest, South Africa) leading the way with three honors.

Denver will be back in action February 17, when it heads to Little Rock, Ark., to compete at the Sun Belt Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.
