The University of Denver athletics department will be hosting tryouts for the Pioneers Cheer Team Sept. 21-26. All levels of experience are encouraged to participate.

The tryout process includes three clinics and a final selection process on the fourth day. During the clinics you will learn the DU Fight Song, 8-couts of a dance routine, a sideline chant, proper technique for jumps, and an opportunity to practice gymnastics. You will be judge on your performance of all these things during the selection process. Your effort will also be evaluated and your work ethic during the clinics as well as your ability to work with others as a team member.

Upon selection to the team, you are required to attend an introductory meeting on Monday, Sept. 26, 2005 at 6 p.m., as well as a week of team building practice beginning Oct. 3-7 from 6-8 p.m. Plan accordingly and set this time aside. Accomodations will be made if your class schedule conflicts.
