Five Pioneer Goals Make it Four Straight Wins

DENVER - The University of Denver women's soccer team once again racked up the goals, winning 5-0 over Florida International Sunday, Oct. 1 at Pioneer Field. This was DU's fourth consecutive win.

"We're playing unselfish soccer," said head coach Jeff Hooker. "The team is very focused right now."

The Pioneers (8-2-1) (4-0-0) tallied goals from five different girls. Freshman Lizzy Carlson (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Caitlin Rollins (Ft. Collins, Colo.) as well as juniors Jenna Billingsley (Littleton, Colo.), Taryn Hemmings (Greeley, Colo.) and Jamie Dierberger (Littleton, Colo.) all scored for Denver. The Pioneers won their second consecutive home match fourth Sun Belt Conference game of the season.

Senior Dani Wiley (Littleton, Colo.) earned the win, posting her fourth shutout of the season and Denver's sixth overall.

The Pioneers will return to the road to continue SBC play in Alabama to face South Alabama on Friday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. and Troy on Sunday, Oct. 8 at noon.
