DENVER - The University of Denver women's soccer team extended its winning streak to seven games by beating UALR 9-0 on Friday at Pioneer Field. The Pioneers' nine goals were the most they've scored since 1996.

DU (11-2-1, 7-0-0) was led by reigning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week junior Taryn Hemmings (Greeley, Colo.), who netted three goals and added an assist for her fifth multi-point game of the season. It was Hemmings' first career hat trick and the seven points are also a career high.

The Pioneers, who are unbeaten in SBC play, had six different players score goals. Seniors Lleane Grimditch (Boulder, Colo.) and Holly Huppert (Littleton, Colo.), juniors Jenna Billingsley (Littleton, Colo.) and Rachael Fry (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and sophomore Katie Oats (Littleton, Colo.) along with Hemmings all tallied goals for Denver.

"The level of play never changed throughout the game," head coach Jeff Hooker said. "Even at the end of the game with our reserves in we played at a high level."

Senior Dani Wiley (Littleton, Colo.) needed just one save to win her 11th game of the year. With the win Wiley is three victories away from second place on the programs career wins list.

Denver's nine goals were the most in a match since a 16-0 win over Montana State on Oct. 16, 1996.

The Pioneers will continue conference play when they face Arkansas State at home on Sunday, Oct. 13 at noon.
