A DU Sweep in Louisiana

MONROE - The University of Denver women's soccer team completes the sweep of Louisiana by beating Louisiana Monroe on Sunday in Monroe. The Pioneers improve to 6-2-1 while Lafayette falls to 4-6-1. The Pioneers are now 1-0 all-time against the Warhawks.

Pioneer Freshman Lizzy Carlson (Honolulu, Hawaii) tallied her first career goal, assist and hat trick. Carlson is now third on the team with seven points (3G, 1A).

Sophomore Jessica Keller (Ralston Valley, Colo.) added two assists bringing her total to five for the season.

The Pioneers defense held Louisiana Monroe to three shots total, none of them were on goal. Senior Dani Wiley (Littleton, Colo.) and freshman Mackenzie Snyder (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) combined for the Pioneers fifth shutout this season.

The Pioneers continue Sun Belt Conference play, Friday, Sept. 29 against Florida Atlantic at Pioneer Field.
