Box Score DENVER The University of Denver women’s soccer team played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer in a 0-0 tie against the South Alabama Jaguars Friday afternoon at Pioneer Field.
Denver (5-3-3, 1-0-2 SBC) outshot South Alabama (7-4-2, 2-2-1 SBC) 29-6 in the game as they registered 15 shots on goal to the Jaguars’ two. Junior defender Jessi Keller (Ralston Valley, Colo.) notched four shots on goal for the Pioneers, while freshman midfielder Kelsey Quinn (Peach Tree City, Ga.) added two shots on target.
“It’s frustrating when you have so much time of possession and so many opportunities, but you can’t find the back of the net,” head coach Jeff Hooker said.
Sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Snyder (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) registered her sixth shutout of the season with a pair of saves in the tie. For the Jaguars, goalkeeper Kelsie Langford recorded 15 saves.
The Pioneers will play their final home game of the season on Sunday when they kick off against Troy at 12 p.m. Denver will honor its five seniors, Jenna Billingsley (Littleton, Colo.), Jamie Dierberger (Littleton, Colo.), Elise Mascitelli (Denver, Colo.), Kyle McFarlane (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) and Rachael Fry (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) during halftime of the Troy game. The Pioneers end their season with five games on the road before the Sun Belt Conference Tournament Nov. 7-11 at Mobile, Ala.
