Pioneers Top UALR, 2-0

                                                                

Lizzy Carlson scores goal and adds assist in DU victory

                                                                        

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. Sophomore midfielder Lizzy Carlson (Honolulu, Hawaii) scored a goal and added an assist, as the University of Denver women’s soccer team shut out UALR 2-0 on Friday evening.

 

Carlson and freshman midfielder Kelsey Quinn (Peach Tree City, Ga.) set up sophomore forward Mariah Johnston (Littleton, Colo.), who buried a shot from five yards out into the far corner just six minutes into the game.

 

In the 11^th minute, Carlson added an unassisted insurance goal that held up for the Pioneers (7-3-4, 4-1-2 SBC).

 

Sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Snyder (Fort Collins, Colo.) recorded three saves for her eighth shutout of the season.

 

The Pioneers head to Arkansas State for another Sun Belt Conference match-up on Sunday.
