Denver Shuts Out Arkansas State, 4-0

JONESBORO, Ark. Sophomore midfielder Kelli Breidenbach (Fort Collins, Colo.) scored a pair of goals and sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Snyder (Fort Collins, Colo.) recorded her fifth-straight shutout, as Denver defeated Arkansas State on Sunday.

 

Breidenbach got things going for DU (8-3-4, 5-1-2 SBC), scoring an unassisted goal in the 29th minute.

 

Eleven minutes later, sophomore midfielder Lizzy Carlson (Honolulu, Hawaii) netted her third goal of the weekend, adding to the pair she scored on Friday at UALR, giving Denver a 2-0 lead at halftime.

 

Breidenbach added her second goal of the game during the 78th minute off an assist from freshman forward Lauren Cavarra (Littleton, Colo.)

 

Sophomore midfielder Katie Culp (Carlsbad, Calif.) with less than eight minutes to play.

 

Snyder has allowed only one goal in the past nine games after saving six shots against Arkansas State.

 

The Pioneers next take on Middle Tennessee on the road on Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.
