SANTA BARBARA, Calif. The University of Denver women’s soccer team battled through two overtimes at UC Santa Barbara and came away with a 0-0 tie.

 “The girls showed a lot of toughness tonight,” DU head coach Jeff Hooker said. “To play their first road game of the year and come away with a tie showed a lot of maturity.”

Sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Snyder (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) had five saves in the shutout.

“Mackenzie played really well tonight,” Hooker said. “Actually, the whole back line played well.”

The Gauchos (1-3-1) outshot the Pioneers (2-1-2), 11-4.

The Pioneers play their second game in Southern California when they head to Pepperdine (0-4-1) on Sunday at 2 p.m.
