Box Score MALIBU, Calif. The University of Denver women’s soccer team was shut out 3-0 at Pepperdine on Sunday afternoon.
“It’s always a challenge to go out and play two games on the road, especially when you end up in overtime on Friday night,” head coach Jeff Hooker said. “Pepperdine is a very good team that is always competing to be in the NCAA Tournament, and today they showed why.”
Pepperdine forward Courtney Price scored twice, while Amanda Rupp added one in the final minute of play.
Sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Snyder (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) had six saves.
The Pioneers (2-2-1) had only two shots, both during the first half, while the Waves (1-4-1) had 12.
The Pioneers takes the field next in the CU Tournament in Boulder, Colo. DU faces Drake on Friday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m., and plays No. 1 Stanford on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m.
