DENVER  - University of Denver women's soccer player Mariah Johnston (Littleton, Colo.) scored just 21 seconds into the game, giving DU the only goal needed, as the Pioneers shut out Troy 1-0 at University of Denver Soccer Stadium on Friday night.

Senior midfielder Kelli Breidenbach (Fort Collins, Colo.) dribbled up the left side of the field on the game's first possession and crossed to senior midfielder Johnston for the one-timer.

Freshman goalkeeper Lara Campbell (Anchorage, Alaska) needed just one save, as the Pioneers (9-4-1, 4-1-0 SBC) kept the ball on the Trojans' end of the field for the majority of the contest, recording 17 shots to three by Troy (6-5-1, 2-3-0 SBC).

The Pioneers remain at home for a matchup against South Alabama on Sunday at noon.
