Box Score Denver - The University of Denver's women's soccer team shut out Arkansas State on the road Friday night 3-0. Freshman forward Kalie Vaughn (Fort Collins, Colo.) earned two assists in the win.
The win improves the Pioneers' record to 11-3-1, being 6-0-1 in the Sun Belt Conference. The loss drops the Red Wolves to 6-7-1 overall with a 3-3 conference mark.
Three different Pioneers scored en route to DU's win over ASU. Junior defense Megan Flannery (Littleton, Colo.) scored her first goal of the season and the first goal of the match, unassisted, in the 15th minute. The second goal came from senior midfield Lizzy Carlson (Honolulu, Hawaii) when she took a pass from Vaughn. Senior forward Mariah Johnston (Littleton, Colo.) scored the final goal for the Pioneers in the 73rd minute of the game, also off a pass from Vaughn.
The Pioneers continue their weekend on the road as they next face Arkansas-Little Rock on Sunday at 11 a.m.
