Box Score Denver - The University of Denver women's soccer team had two different player score goals in its 2-0 shutout of Western Kentucky.
Senior midfielder Mariah Johnston (Littleton, Colo.) scored her third goal of the season in the 25th minute of the game with a chip shot into the top right goal corner. She had an assist from freshman forward Kaitlin Bast (Centennial, Colo.).
DU's second goal of the match up came in the 60th minute from junior midfielder Kelsey Quinn (Peach Tree City, Ga.). This was Quinn's first goal of the season. Johnston earned the assist on the tally.
This win improves the Pioneers record to 12-5-1, being 7-2-0 in the Sun Belt Conference. The loss drops WKU to 12-4-1, 7-2-0 SBC.
Freshman goaltender, Lara Campbell (Anchorage, Alaska) ended the night with five saves.
The Pioneers continue their weekend on the road as they take on Middle Tennessee on Sunday.
