Box Score DENVER - University of Denver senior forward Mariah Johnston (Littleton, Colo.) had a goal and an assist, giving the women's soccer team 2-1 win over Middle Tennessee on Sunday afternoon in Tennessee.
Denver (13-5-1, 8-2 SBC) got on the board in the 17th minute as Johnston sent a cross from the right side, and senior midfield Kelli Breidenbach (Fort Collins, Colo.) scored on a header from the top of the six-yard box to just inside the far post.
Middle Tennessee (12-4-2, 6-3-1 Sun Belt) evened it up in the 60th minute, as Laura Lamberth sent a pass to Regina Thomas, who one-touched the pass behind freshman goalkeeper Lara Campbell, (Anchorage, Alaska).
In the 80th minute, freshman forward Kaitlin Bast (Centennial, Colo.) fed Johnston at the top of the six-yard box for the game-winner.
The Pioneers end their regular season at home on Fri., Oct. 30, when they face North Texas at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium at 5 p.m., as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. Both Denver soccer teams will honor their seniors before their respective games.
