Ducks Downs Denver, 4-1

Box Score

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Sophomore midfielder Alison Kenney (Fort Collins, Colo.) scored a goal from 30 yards out, but the University of Denver women's soccer team fell to Oregon 4-1 on Friday afternoon.

The Ducks (5-1-1) struck first just 13 minutes into the game, when Teresa Bowns scored on a one-timer, and Scout Libke gave Oregon another goal 91 seconds before the end of the first half.

Bowns gave Oregon a three-goal lead in the 80th minute with a shot off a long cross from Julie Armstrong, who had two assists in the game.

The Pioneers (5-2-1) got on the board, when junior defender Megan Flannery (Littleton, Colo.) assisted Kenney, who drilled a long shot that hit the right post before crossing into the goal.

Armstrong gave the Ducks their final goal with a lob over DU goalkeeper Maria Khan (Aurora, Colo.), who played just under 28 minutes for her first college action.

The Pioneers stay in Corvallis, Ore., for a road contest against Oregon State on Sunday.
