Two Former DU Golfers Earn LPGA Tour Cards

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Former University of Denver women's golfers Stephanie Sherlock and Kimberly Kim both earned LPGA Tour Cards after impressive performances at the LPGA Tour Final Qualifying Tournament at the 6389-yard, par 72, LPGA International Champions and Legends Course in Daytona Beach, Florida.

"I am so proud of all our former players that choose to play professionally," said head coach Sammie Chergo. "Our mission is to grow future leaders through competitive golf and academics. Stephanie and Kim are wonderful examples of this and are great representatives of the University of Denver."

Both players tied for 14th place overall at 2-over par 362. Sherlock posted scores of 74-74-74-68 -72 - 362, while Kim finished the five rounds with scores of 71-78-70-73 -70 - 362.

According to the LPGA, the top 20 players of the tournament will earn Priority in Category 11 for the 2011 season. All players finishing in LPGA Priority Categories 1-14 are eligible for entry into full-field events (144 players) based on player tournament commitments.
