DENVER - With the University of Denver women's basketball season just recently underway, we begin to look at the Pioneers by introducing the newcomers.
This week we have freshman Theresa Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.). Wirth led Seton Catholic Prep to its second consecutive 4A-II Title, averaging 19 points per game her senior year. She finished her career with 2,080 point and earned a spot on the All-Arizona girls' basketball team.
Wirth is the only Arizona-native on the DU roster, coming from a family of athletes. She has two sisters who both played high school basketball and went on to play in college. One of her two older sisters played college basketball for the SEC's Vanderbilt Commodores.
