Box Score ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Freshman Ty Loney (Valencia, Pa.) scored two goals as No. 15 Denver won its fifth straight game with a 6-3 win over Alaska Anchorage Saturday night at Sullivan Arena.

Joey LaLeggia (Burnaby, British Columbia), Jason Zucker (Las Vegas), Nick Shore (Denver, Colo.) and Chris Knowlton (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added goals as DU improves to 15-8-3, 10-5-3 WCHA. Alaska Anchorage falls to 6-16-2, 3-16-1 WCHA with its seventh straight loss.

Sophomore Sam Brittain (Calgary, Alberta) got the win with 24 saves in his first action of the season. DU jumped out to 5-0 lead and held on for the win.

DU outshot Alaska Anchorage, 28-27, including 17-6 in the first period. The Pioneers went 1-for-5 on the power play and 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.

DU hosts in-state rival Colorado College on Friday, Feb. 3.

Notes: DU is third in the WCHA with 23 points. Brittain missed DU's first 25 games with a knee injury. The Pioneers are 6-0-2 in their last eight games against Alaska Anchorage. LaLeggia has 16 points (4g, 12a) during his eight-game point streak, while Loney has 12 points (7g, 5a) during his seven-game point streak.
