DENVER - Chatham University has named University of Denver Senior Associate Athletics Director/Major Gifts Officer
Scott Koskoski as its new Director of Athletics, the school announced Thursday.
Koskoski returns home to his native Pennsylvania for his first Director of Athletics position. He joins Chatham after an eight-month stay at DU. As a member of the Division of Athletics & Recreation Executive Staff, Koskoski managed various external efforts for the Division, with emphasis on development, sponsorship, marketing, and securing the major and principal gifts to propel the strategic plan of the Division forward.
He also directed all special divisional fundraising priorities, worked closely on capital project development, oversaw sport coach initiatives and served on the Division's Strategic Planning and Communications committees, as well as several coach and staff search processes.
"Scott made an impact during his short time at DU and we congratulate him on this opportunity to move home for his first Director of Athletics position," DU Vice Chancellor for Athletics and Recreation Peg Bradley-Doppes said. "Scott, his wife Melissa, and kids, Benjamin, Tyler and Olivia, will always be a part of our DU family."
Prior to DU, Koskoski served as the primary principal-level gift officer at Temple University. Koskoski managed university capital projects, including the basketball practice facility, university boathouse, football facility expansion and main campus exhibits/building enhancements. He successfully managed and fund-raised Temple athletics' component of a $350 million comprehensive university-wide capital campaign.
"While I am excited to ascend to a Director of Athletics position and have prepared diligently to become an AD, leaving the University of Denver is a bitterly emotional and nearly heartbreaking decision," Koskoski said. "When you become a Pioneer, you are a Pioneer for life. This university has a special grip on its alumni, donors, students and staff - and I loved every minute of it. When I came to work for Peg Bradley-Doppes, I came to work for the finest Division I athletic director in the country. It is only because of her leadership, mentorship and blessing that I feel prepared and inspired to become the finest Division III athletic director in the country."
Koskoski's term at Chatham will begin Monday, April 23.
