Jason Zucker Named Second-Team All-American

TAMPA, Fla. - Former University of Denver standout and current Minnesota Wild forward Jason Zucker (Las Vegas, Nev.) was named CCM Hockey Division I West Second-Team All-American, announced Friday by the American Hockey Coaches Association at the 2012 Frozen Four in Tampa, Fla.

Zucker concluded his DU career with 46 points (22g, 24a) in 2012. He helped Denver (25-14-4) to its fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance before signing with Minnesota on March 27. Zucker finished his two-year DU career with 91 points (45g, 46a) in 78 career games. Zucker is the 38th Pioneer to earn All-America honors and first since Marc Cheverie, Rhett Rakhshani and Patrick Wiercioch were named All-Americans in 2010.

Taylor Nelson (Ferris State), Torey Krug (Michigan State), Justin Schultz (Wisconsin), Jack Connolly (Minnesota Duluth), Jaden Schwartz (Colorado College) and Reilly Smith (Miami) were selected to the West First-Team. 

Zucker, Kent Patterson (Minnesota), Chad Billins (Ferris State), Dan DeKeyser (Western Michigan), Nick Bjugstad (Minnesota) and  J.T. Brown (Minnesota Duluth) made up the West Second-Team.
