Former DU Forward Beau Bennett Set to Make NHL Debut Tonight

DENVER - Former University of Denver hockey standout Beau Bennett (Gardena, Calif.) will make his National Hockey League (NHL) debut tonight for the Pittsburgh Penguins when they take on the Winnipeg Jets at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba at 5 p.m. MT.

Bennett was recalled by the Penguins from the American Hockey League's (AHL) Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins yesterday.

Bennett is currently playing in his first professional season, and has registered seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points in 35 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. He was recently selected to compete in the 2013 Dunkin' Donuts AHL All-Star Classic in Providence, Rhode Island, but had to sit-out due to injury.

During his time at DU, Bennett totaled with 13 goals and 25 assists for 38 points in 47 career games. He was selected in the first round (20th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Penguins.
