ERIE, Colo. – The University of Denver men’s golf team sits in a tie for ninth place after the first 18 holes of the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational at the Colorado National Golf Club. Second round was under way, but was suspended due to darkness and will resume on Tuesday morning.
Following the conclusion of second-round action, the third round will follow.
The Pioneers shot a 24-over par 312 in the first round to sit in a tie with Texas State. Colorado leads the 16-team field with an 11-over par 299.
Junior Victor Doka (Zurich, Switzerland) shots a two-over in the first round, while teammate Oskar Arvidsson (Karna, Sweden) carded a six-over.
Sophomore Arti Edelman (Geneva, Switzerland) posted a seven-over, while freshman Pat Frodigh (Westwood, Mass.) turned in a nine-over.
The tournament features eight of Colorado’s top high school golfers paired with college athletes in order to provide a glimpse into collegiate competition.
