DENVER - The University of Denver women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 extra time result to South Dakota State on Sunday afternoon at CIBER Field at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.
Denver outshot South Dakota State 10-7 in regulation, putting four of those 10 efforts on goal. Junior goalkeeper Cassidy Rey (Arcadia, Calif.) made three saves in the first 90 minutes, including a couple of diving efforts to her left.
Senior defender Delaney Ratcliffe converted the first opportunity for either team in extra time, hitting a 30-yard strike off the underside of the bar and over the goal line to give the 2014 Summit League champions the extra time victory on Sunday.
