DENVER - Denver's Moritz Madlener (Sulzberg, Bavaria, Germany) and teammate Taylor Shiffrin (Avon, Colo.) were both named Skiers of the Week for their performances during the week of Jan. 18-25.

Skiers of the Week are determined by a combined finish as it pertains to NCAA Qualification in the two races within a meet. Ties are broken by combined time. Skiers can only win once a season.

Moritz Madlener, DENVER Jr. // Sulzberg, Bavaria, Germany
• Named Men's Nordic Skier of the Week after his performance at the Colorado Invitational
• First place finish in the 10k Freestyle on Jan. 23 with a time of 26:05.1
• Claimed another first place finish in the 20k Classic on Jan. 24 with a time of 56:51.8

Taylor Shiffrin, DENVER Sr. // Avon, Colo.
• Named Men's Alpine Skier of the Week after her performance at the Colorado Invitational
• Third place finish in the men's slalom on Jan. 22 with a time of 1:26.11
• Claimed a sixth place finish in the giant slalom on Jan. 23 with a time of 1:56.16

The DU ski team will have a few weeks off as they prepare for the University of New Mexico Invitational from Feb. 20-21 in Red River, New Mexico.
