DENVER - The 69th-ranked University of Denver women's tennis team beat the University of Drake 4-0 today at the Colorado Athletic Club-Monaco. The women improved to 8-2 overall on the season.
Maureen Slattery (Newport, Va.), Charlotte Derbyshire (Stockton England) and Morgan Barnhill (Austin, Texas) all earned singles victories for the Pioneers, while the singles matches of No. 62 ranked Julia O'Loughlin (Highland Beach, Fla.), Bianca Mok (Boise, Idaho) and Evy Van Genechten (Antwerp, Belgium) were all deemed unfinished.
Denver also swept the doubles matches today with victories coming from the pairs of No. 44 ranked O'Loughlin and Slattery, Mok and Barnhill, and Derbyshire/Van Genechten.
The team will be back in action on Saturday when they host the University of Wyoming at 4:00 p.m. MT at the Colorado Athletic Club-Monaco.
