March 18, 2016 The DU Pioneers continued their spring schedule on Friday, playing 36 holes of golf over the course of the opening two rounds of play at the 2016 Desert Shootout in Goodyear, Ariz. Denver opened the tournament with a round of 288 in the morning prior to firing a 301 in the afternoon to finish the day in a tie for 17th place at +13 (589). Senior Arti Edelman (Geneva, Switzerland) turned in two stellar rounds for DU on Friday, firing a 71 in the morning and a 70 in the afternoon to finish the day at -3, good for a share of 21st place in the field of 116. Competing as an individual, sophomore Johan Werge (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) also had a strong day, following up an even-par opening round (72) with a two-under 70 to sit in T-28th place (-2) with 18 holes to play in this tournament.
