PIONEERS FINISH 17th AT 2016 DESERT SHOOTOUT

The third and final round of the 2016 Desert Shootout was staged on Saturday, with the DU Pioneers firing their best 18-hole total of the tournament (284, -4) to finish the Goodyear, Arizona-staged event at +9 (873), good for 17th place. Competing as an individual, sophomore Johan Werge (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) turned in his second straight round of 70 on Saturday, registering five birdies versus three bogeys en route to finishing the day at -2 and the event at -4 (215). Senior Arti Edelman (Geneva, Switzerland) recorded DU's low tournament score, finishing the event under par at -1 (215) after firing a final round of 74. Fellow senior Adam Ruben (Lake Oswego, Ore.) fired a 69 on Saturday, Denver's lone round in the 60s for the tournament. Click HERE to view complete individual scoring for this event.
