KORTE FIRES A 68 IN ROUND 2 OF THE GOODWIN

Sophomore Pioneer Chris Korte (Littleton, Colo.) turned in one of his best rounds of the 2015-16 season on Friday at Stanford University Golf Course in Palo Alto, California, firing a 68 (-2) to move from T-93rd place to T-37th at the 2016 edition of The Goodwin. Korte carded three birdies and one eagle on the day, registering a 35 (E) on the Front 9 and a 33 (-2) on his Back 9 en route to moving up 56 spots and entering the Top 40 in the field of 138. "Chris was awesome today," says DU head coach Erik Billinger. "It was fun to see him compete at such a high level against the very top players in the country and prove he has what it takes to beat the best on any given day."
As a team, Denver fired a 295 (+15) on Friday to improve upon its Round 1 score by 10 strokes and pull ahead of Yale into sole possession of 25th place at the tournament. Click HERE to view complete team stats for this event.
