DENVER
- The University of Denver men's basketball team saw its six-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday, dropping a close contest to South Dakota, 75-69. The loss moved the Pioneers' record to 9-6 (1-1 Summit League), while the Coyotes improved to 11-7 (2-1 SL) on the season.

C.J. Bobbitt and Daniel Amigo led DU, each recording a double-double in the contest. Bobbitt finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Amigo added 13 and 10.

Joe Rosga posted a team-high 14 points to go with four rebounds and four assists. The St. Paul, Minn. native also had three steals on the evening.

Denver finished the contest shooting 39.1 percent (25-for-64) from the field, its worst outing since the Northern Colorado victory back on Dec. 17.

USD was led by Matt Mooney, who poured in a game-high 23 in the victory.

Both teams traded baskets to start the evening, with Denver getting its first lead at 10-9 after Bobbitt grabbed a rebound and went coast-to-coast for a layup, upping his total to four in the half.

A four-minute scoring drought put the Pioneers in a five-point hole at the 7:36 mark, but DU fought its way back into the half with 7-0 run to knot the score at 27 after another Bobbitt layup in the paint.

South Dakota pushed itself to a three-point lead going into the half with a 3-pointer from Mooney to beat the buzzer heading into the break.

Denver struggled shooting the ball from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes, going 3-for-11 (27.3 percent).

Bobbitt's 10 first-half points came on an efficient 4-of-7 shooting.

The Pioneers kept it close in the first few minutes of the second half, getting key baskets and stops from Rosga to keep it a one-possession game going into the under-12 media timeout.

DU briefly took the lead at 50-49 after Amigo converted a free throw for a three-point play, but the game remained a one-possession contest for the next several minutes with neither team really getting the upper hand.

The Coyotes pulled away right at the end with a 9-2 run over the final 1:58 to secure the win and snap Denver's winning streak.

All Good Things Must Come to an End
The Pioneers saw their six-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday. The streak was the longest by the team since the 2012-13 season. It was also the first time that the team has struggled with shooting in a loss since at Texas A&M nearly a month ago, finishing with a 39.1 field-goal percentage.
